Design Trends

Once design work re-started after March 2020, project inquiries to Andersen Design really followed trends, and they made sense with what was going on in the world. The first was to finish any unfinished areas of the house (think basements, attics, etc.). Not long after that trend became additions to add more living space. Families at home together (or multi-generational homes) wanted to spread out and have more space. By the time we got to Spring 2021, patios and outdoor entertainment spaces started to explode. Then came two story garages – typically with a second floor loft or entertainment space. The latest trend has been a covered deck or patio. Now that you have the space – you need protection from the elements! The progression looking at it in hindsight makes sense.
